-remove both heater hoses, and firewall grommet -remove lower dash panel below steering wheel -remove both black heater ducts in drivers footwell -if you look up under the dash, just behind the stereo area, there is a little black a/c computer with four plugs, label the plugs 1-4 from firewall-stereo, then remove 2 or 3 screws that hold it(i cant remember how many) -there will be a black panel over the heater valve held on with 2-3 screws- remove that -loosen the screw that holds the tension spring on the heater valve arm, and remove spring. -remove one screw that holds a tab to hold core in box. -remove the pipes from core(4 screws each, leave the valve on the pipes, as its a pain to remove, and is usually fine). -since the hoses are gone already, you should be able to wiggle the pipes to the sides a little, and wedge a midsized screwdriver in each to hold them to the side. -slide out the heater core -remove OEM pipes and valve from new core. -slide new core in, put a thin bead of rtv on flanges with the newer rubber gasket/ring. -screw pipes back into core -reinstall heater hoses, and start car -manually operate heater valve with engine warmed, and look for leaks -if all is good, reverse order of removal to finish.
